Burn out is different for everyone, but to a content creator there are a few common things we can pin-point. Some of these will sound familiar and some might not pertain to you at all. One thing we can all be certain of is the burn out is real and it SUCKS!
Burn out can take your passion and drain away all of the fun, inspiration, and creativity. This is the beginning of the end to any profession, but especially to those who depend on that spark to engage an audience.
How can we determine what burnout is if it’s something that’s so different to everyone? It’s a tricky undertaking, but I think we can say it’s safe to assume that the general idea of burnout is when you’ve come to a point where you’re overworked and haven’t given yourself proper time management, rest, and self-care.
Signs that you are burning out (but not limited too):
Feeling Stuck or Lost and unsure what to do next
Feeling a constant state of Un-Motivation
Feeling a constant sense of Writers Block Feeling unhappy with any game you are playing
Feeling constantly insecure towards starting your stream
Feeling trapped by doubts
Feeling constantly tired and overworked
Feeling constantly stressed out
Feeling constantly frustrated or unsatisfied with what you create
There are more things that can pinpoint what burnout can feel like, but these are the most common emotions that come to mind. In essence, if you don’t see it listed above don’t think you aren’t feeling burnout. It’s important to always take a moment and self-reflect if you have been taking proper breaks and giving yourself enough time to decompress, relax, rest and importantly breathe. Knowing when too much is too much is a very helpful tool when it’s time to put yourself before the stream, because there is no stream without you! Everyone is always talking about how you must keep a proper schedule to be a successful streamer, it’s important, but mental health is even more important! Your viewers will understand if you need a night or even a week off. Just remember to have fun and Take Care of Yourself!!!
